Kathmandu .The UF (International Antiimperialist United Front
against Fascism, War and Environmental Destruction) has again issued an information about Zimmerwald Conference. The information remains as below –
“The Zimmerwald Conference 2.0, which will take place on September 6, 2025 in
Zurich/Switzerland, is approaching! Meanwhile, the armed conflicts around the world are
intensifying. Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu wants to take over the entire Gaza Strip
and the famine is taking on unimaginable proportions. Solidarity greetings to the port
workers in Greece, Italy and France, who have prevented arms deliveries to Israel with
blockades because they do not want to soil their hands with the blood of the genocide
against the Palestinian population! The rulers Trump and Putin are talking about the war in Ukraine, territorial cessions are an issue. Neither the Ukrainian nor the Russian people will be liberated in this way. Rwanda and Congo have signed a peace agreement in the USA. However, the latest news from the Congo confirms the fears: the areas, towns and villages that were conquered are still occupied and the civilian population continues to be abused.
An imperialist peace is a betrayal of the masses. The objective situation in the world
therefore makes it more than necessary to raise the peace movement to a new level. The Zimmerwald Conference 2.0 can be an important step in this direction.
Therefore, here are some hints and further information about the conference:
1. As you know, the conference will take place hybrid, i.e. both in presence and online.
Take part yourself and make sure you use the remaining time for advertising! This applies above all to advertising among all international friends! Rarely is there such a good opportunity to discuss with each other in such a broad spectrum, connected worldwide. Online participation via ZOOM as well as registration for participation in the open discussion for each block, whether online or in presence, is open until the end. Any one
who would like to submit a contribution for the open discussion in advance is very
welcome to do so. This will help the translators! The speaking time is limited to two
minutes, so that proper discussion and, if necessary, multiple speeches are possible. This
proved very successful at the last United Front webinar!
2. Registration for participation in presence was open until August 15. If you have not yet done so, please register very quickly: Please send all information to
unitedfrontsecretariat@protonmail.com: first name, last name, possibly organization,
country, participation in Lenin walk yes/no, possibly contribution to the evening program. Arrival is already possible on Friday, when the ATIK will kindly make its room in Zurich available to us (address: ATIK, Kultur Fabrik, Binzmühlenstr. 405, 8046 Zurich).
3. Your speeches are particularly valuable and important for the conference. A few days
ago we sent you the list of speakers for the keynote speeches for each block – an
impressive line-up that promises an exciting discussion! We ask all speakers with keynote
speeches to submit their contributions by August 20, exactly limited to the six minutes
speaking time, so that they can be translated as usual. We will have translation by
volunteer interpreters in six languages!
4. As you know, we want to organize a joint evening program at the end of the
conference. As many people as possible should contribute to this, we are convinced that
the culture of the international peace movement is diverse! Perhaps there are songs,
dances, poems, performances of other kinds that you can contribute to the evening
program? Of course, this applies to the participants in attendance, but you are also very
welcome to send us videos of your dance groups, choirs, music groups, bands, which we
can then include in the evening!
5. At this point we would also like to advertise again for participation in the walk “In
Lenin’s footsteps” on Sunday, which the comrades of MLGS Switzerland, who will be
our hosts alongside ATIK, have prepared!
