Shankar Shah, Central Secretariat member of the Revolutionary Youth Association of Nepal (RYAN), who was detained without cause . On this case Sury Timilsina, the Convener of the Association has issued Press Statement .
Our organisation strongly condemns the arrest of Comrade Shankar Shah, Central Secretariat member of theRevolutionary Youth Association of Nepal (RYAN), who was detained without cause at 1:33 p.m. yesterday while the 133rd Mao Day and parliamentary election boycott rally was taking place at the Old Bus Park in Kathmandu. We express our serious concern over this arrest, carried out by the Home Ministry of the puppet government led by Sushil Karki, which has already hijacked the J–Z movement. We view this as a deliberate attempt to harass and intimidate our leaders and activists. Our organisation strongly opposes and condemns this repressive act. We demand the immediate and dignified release of Comrade Shankar Shah. If our demand is not met, the Revolutionary Youth Federation Nepal will be compelled to launch a resistance struggle against these conspiratorial actions and those responsible for them. The puppet government’s Home Administration will be held fully responsible for any consequences arising from this struggle.
Note: Comrade Shankar Shah has been accused of raising funds for the organisation.
