Dear comrades,
We, the youth association REBELL of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Germany (MLPD), have heard about the scandalous arrest of your comrade Shankar Shah, member of the Central Secretariat of the Revolutionary Youth League of Nepal, on the 133rd birthday of Mao Tsetung. He was arrested under the pretext that he had collected funds for the organization. We condemn this in the strongest terms! Where else should a revolutionary youth league get the money for its work if not from the workers, the masses themselves? This is also an important lesson from Comrade Mao Tsetung, that we must trust the masses.
This intimidation tactic must be taken very seriously and is intended to deter organized and revolutionary struggle. We know that the people of Nepal are caught in the crossfire of various imperialist powers. The youth movement in September was exploited by the US, India, and also the royalist forces in Nepal to push through their own interests. In doing so, they did not shy away from shooting young people and destroying cultural assets in Nepal.
The current transitional government is a puppet government of these forces, especially the US. Young people in Nepal, but also here in Germany, must learn to organize themselves, to recognize where the interests of the masses lie, and not to allow themselves to be abused by these reactionary forces.
You are all certainly very concerned and at the same time full of fighting spirit to wage the struggle to free Shankar Shah. We stand behind you and will make this known in Germany! For the immediate release of comrade Shankar Shah! Long live international solidarity!
We also want to use this opportunity to get to know each other as youth organizations. REBELL is a revolutionary youth organization for genuine socialism in Germany. We have a children’s organization, the Rotfüchse (Red Foxes), for children aged 6 and up. Our organization includes working-class youth, but also students and schoolchildren. Proletarian internationalism is very important to us, and we have close ties with rebellious youth around the world.
