A MASSIVE, OPPOSITION-LED GATHERING
Over three days, 10, 11 and 12 October, tens of thousands of women and people of diverse identities took centre stage at a massive and oppositional 39th Plurinational Meeting of Women and Diversities, lling the capital of Córdoba (see coverage on pages 6, 7 and 8). This Gathering placed the women’s and feminist movement at the centre of the national political stage, with its determination to intensify the struggle for their rights and hard- won gains, denouncing the reactionary policies of the Milei government and its accomplices.
The collective effort of thousands upon thousands from across the country to make their way to Córdoba was immense, amidst the economic hardships to which this cruel and infamous government subjects us.
The workshops at the Rally, as
reported by the comrades from the
Organising Committee, exceeded all
expectations, and the venues were
packed with women. The massive
march, according to the organisers,
which drew nearly 200,000 people
carrying the banners of their
delegations from every province and
from social, trade union and political
organisations, made it clear that women and people of diverse
identities could not be driven from
the streets and that they are
determined to press ahead with their
demands on the Milei government:
against hunger, against the erosion of
rights, in defence of public
universities and education and of
sovereignty, and for the declaration
of a State of Emergency on Violence
against Women, amongst other
demands. CABA was unanimously
chosen as the venue for next
year’s event.
This great gathering, which, as one
comrade put it, showcases a
movement of women and people of
diverse identities “that surprises,
advances, unites, debates, shares and
knows no bounds”
, will strengthen
the struggle of workers and the
people to build the unity needed to
defeat this policy and this
government, and to push forward
with a programme that makes the
monopolies, landowners and
imperialists pay for this crisis,
thereby resolving the profound
crises facing the people and
the nation.

YOUTH REBELLIONS
ARE GROWING AROUND
THE WORLD
A massive youth rebellion is
sweeping across the world and
“setting oalarm bells” among
governments and the ruling classes,as the oligarchic newspaper *La
Nación* puts it with its keen class
instinct. Protests led by secondary
school and university students and
by young people are taking place in
France, Spain, Germany, Italy,
Belgium, India, Chile and Brazil. With
a range of demands (inability to
access housing, schools and
universities facing budget cuts,
government austerity measures,
attacks on immigrants and
minorities, condemnation of far-right
and fascist movements, among
others), millions of young people are
taking to the streets, united in their
condemnation of this rotten system
and of governments that impose
austerity on the people, increase
military spending, line the pockets of
the powerful and are leading the
world towards a new world war
between the major imperialist
powers.
In the protest camps and on the
streets, amidst the demonstrations,
revolutionary slogans are resurging
with great force. French students are
invoking the Paris Commune,
hanging a banner reading
‘Revolution 2.0’ in the Place de la
Bastille, whilst internet searches for
Marx and Engels’ Communist
Manifesto are multiplying by the
thousands; in Madrid, songs from the
Civil War ring out. In India,
thousands of young people are
standing up to the Modi government
in deance of repression
Here in South America, in Brazil,
tens of thousands of people, led by
students, took to the streets following the rst round of the election, which
left the far-right candidate Flavio
Bolsonaro two points ahead of Lula
ahead of the second round on 25
October. Under the slogan “Bolsonaro
never again”
, they condemned his
fascist policies and called for his
return to government to be
prevented by voting for the current
president, vowing to remain on the
streets in defence of their rights
In Chile, the student movement
clashed with the police on the streets
during mass protests against the cuts
to education funding being
implemented by the fascist Kast
government.
Whilst the struggles intensify, the
leaders of the major imperialist
powers are escalating their dispute
at the cost of bloody armed conicts.
Russian imperialism is sustaining its
invasion of Ukraine with attacks on
residential areas, such as the one
carried out in Zaporizhzhia, which
left 17 people dead. The Zelensky
government retaliated with fresh
bombings of Russian oil reneries.
This infuriated US President Donald
Trump, who just a few days ago
signed an agreement with Putin to
buy oil from Russia.
Following the failure of its war of
aggression against Iran, US
imperialism faces a major oil supply
problem, which it is trying to
alleviate through agreements such as
this one with Russia. Trump is so
concerned that he declared,
“It’s time
for Ukraine to have a new
president”
, angry with Zelensky’s
government, which is defending the
integrity of its country and
resisting the agreements to divide
Ukraine, negotiated between the US
and Russia.

MORE AUSTERITY
MEASURES TO CONTINUE
STEALING AND
SURRENDERING
In the last month alone, in Pampa del
Indio, Chaco, three people died of
starvation. This is the brutal result of
three years of this government:
exacerbating every crisis facing the
people. That is why it lls me with
hatred to hear Milei say that his
opponents use ‘noble social causes’
to maintain supposed privileges.
He says this at the very moment a
monumental scam orchestrated by
the Central Bank is being exposed – one in which it gambled away part of
the gold reserves that had been
siphoned oto London, resulting in
a loss of 1,023 million dollars,
according to a report by the National
Audit Oce.
Milei remains silent on the
shenanigans
carried out in ten days by the Court
The ‘Supreme Court of Injustice’
,
composed of three judges who are
staunch defenders of the interests of
the ruling classes. Firstly, at the end of
September, the Court issued a ruling
upholding DNU/70 and the repeal of the
Land Law, thereby allowing any foreign
entity (companies, tycoons or
countries) to purchase as much land as
they wished in our country.
The public outcry was immense, and
in addition to marches on the courts
and public protests targeting the
‘Supreme Court justices’
, a broad, cross- sectoral rally was organised for 15
October to demand not only
compliance with the University
Funding Act, but also that the Chamber
of Deputies repeal DNU 70. This led to a
new manoeuvre by the Court, which,
fearing that the public outrage might
bring down the entire DNU 70 (one of
the pillars of this policy of starvation
and plunder, which includes, amongst
other things, the deregulation of
interest rates, yerba mate, rents and
private health insurance, amongst
others), issued a new resolution,
provisionally reinstating the
Land Act. This is a victory for the
people’s struggle.
Bolstered by the success of the
39th Meeting of Women and
Diversities, we are working to
ensure that 15 October becomes a great
day of struggle that unites the
demands of the national universities
with those of all the
other popular sectors under attack
by this policy.
Because we must move forward in
unity to defeat this government that is
starving the people and selling out the
country, which continues to auction oour companies and strategic resources,
whilst pressing ahead with the
destruction of national industries and
businesses. The Superintendency of
Occupational Risks (SRT) reported that
since La Libertad Avanza (LLA) took
oce, a total of 32,290 rms have
closed down. In July alone, 948
businesses were forced to shut
their doors.
Last week, Aguas y Saneamientos
Argentinos (AySA) was handed over to
Walter Román and Mauricio Filiberti,
with Dutch funding – government
cronies who have already taken control
of the Paraná Main Waterway and the
electricity transmission network. The
auction of AySA is outrageous – 340
million dollars
less than what the auditor himself said
a few months ago would be put out to
tender. It also shows the desperation
of Toto Caputo and his cronies to get
hold of dollars, which their failed
economic plan is draining to nance
capital ight and pay interest. A group
of MPs has already lodged a legal
challenge to try to halt this
privatisation, which also allows the
concessionaire to cut othe water
supply for non-payment. That is how
cruel this government is.
Furthermore, Milei returned favours
to his former boss at Corporación
América, Eduardo Eurnekian, who has
always been close to the government.
They extended the concession for the
33 airports he manages until February
2049, with a clause allowing it to be
extended until 2056.
In a further move demonstrating the
government’s subservience to the
interests of US imperialism and the
fascist government of Israel, the
Ministry of Defence signed an
agreement with Israel for that country
to supply the Armed Forces with
military equipment and drones. The
rst Israeli ARAD ries for the Army
have already arrived. The government
is destroying the national defence
industry and the country’s sovereign
defence capabilities, stripping
Fabricaciones Militares bare, for the
benet of Trump and Netanyahu. This
is yet another step in this plan for
national dissolution, which we must
defeat with the people taking to
the streets.
4 ON THE 15TH WE TOOK
TO THE STREETS ACROSS THE COUNTRY
Amid growing conicts across the
country, last week the CGT marched to
the National Secretariat for Industry
to denounce the mass closure of
companies and the thousands of
redundancies.
Milei feigns ignorance in the face of
the worsening plight of millions
caused by his policies, and continues
his election campaign, attempting to
rally the core of the ruling class bloc
behind his re-election bid.
Following the successful 39th
Plurinational Meeting of Women and
Diversities, which demonstrates a a path and a means to unite what is
scattered and give voice to the growing
discontent and anger; more and more
sectors are rallying for a resounding
day of struggle on 15 October.
Following the sit-in by the university
student movement at the Ministry of
Education, demanding compliance
with the University Funding Act,
students, lecturers, non-teaching staand vice-chancellors are calling for the
Fifth Federal University March this
Thursday, 15 October. They have
rearmed their commitment to
continuing the struggle in the face of a
government that continues to out the
law and appeal against court rulings,
demonstrating that the only thing that
matters to it is to press ahead with
austerity measures to defend an
economic plan that is falling apart at
the seams – and for which millions of
us are surplus to requirements.
As the struggles grow, at the top—in
the so-called ‘red circle’—certain
sectors are concerned that the storms
of anger might sweep them all away,
and are planning a ‘Mileism without
Milei’
, which would also allow them to
continue doing business with other
imperialist powers, rather than being
exclusively subordinate to Donald
Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, as
this government is.
On the 15th, workers across the
country, alongside the rest of the
popular sectors, will gather outside
Parliament to demand that Milei ‘abide
by the law’
, as the university
community puts it, and that Parliament
repeal Emergency Decree 70/23,
the cornerstone of this reactionary
plan of destitution, capitulation
and repression.
From the PCR, the JCR and the mass
organisations of which we are part, we
are working to advance the building of
a broad social and political front to
bring down the Milei government on
the streets.
And if he does make it to the
elections, let him arrive worn down, so
that the broadest possible unity can
defeat him at the ballot box, in the
knowledge that popular uprisings are
the way to bring down reactionary
governments and hasten the march
towards a revolution of national and
social liberation that will put an end to
large-scale landownership, dependency
and this rotten state that sustains them.
