In 27 February ,2026 ICOR issued the statement . The historic aspect of world women’s day and responsibilities of socialist of the world are mentioned in the statement .Also mentioned the tension of the third world war and the suffering state of women from imperialist war in the statement . The full part of statement is given below –
International Women’s Day has a long tradition in the socialist women’s movement and originated at the Second International Socialist Women’s Conference in 1910. Historical achievements can be traced back to March 8 and the struggles and, above all, revolutionary situations associated with it: women’s suffrage, the introduction of the 8-hour day, the establishment of protective measures for mothers and children, equal rights for children born in and out of wedlock, minimum wages, and, last but not least, the joint struggles of men and women against fascism and war.
Around the time of the First World War, socialist women took a clear stand against the politics of war. Rosa Luxemburg’s statement “socialism or barbarism” has become even more significant in recent years. Socialism instead of barbarism! That should be our battle cry on March 8, 2026! Then as now, the prevailing politics are characterized by imperialist warmongering, wanton destruction of natural resources systematic dismantling of the democratic rights of working people, fascism, and militarization. The genocide of the Palestinian people, the brutal destruction of the achievements of Rojava, mass killings and expulsions as in Sudan or Congo, the cold-blooded murder of pregnant refugee women off Chios, Greece, among others, or the US invasion of Venezuela and intensified aggression against Cuba reveal the brutal, misogynistic, and inhuman face of imperialism. But humanity does not want to perish in imperialist barbarism! An anti-imperialist, anti-fascist movement is growing around the world, and the working class is beginning to take on a leading role in it.
Instead of political currents that reduce the question of women’s liberation to the struggle for bourgeois-democratic equality, we build on the revolutionary ideas of our pioneers. Contrary to patriarchal bourgeois historiography, it is pioneers such as Clara Zetkin and Rosa Luxemburg, Nadeshda Krupskaja, Inessa Armand, Alexandra Kollontai, the socialist women’s movement, and all the courageous women fighting for their rights and future who have driven the wheel of history toward the liberation of women.
The ruling classes, with their anti-communism, fascism, racism, and feudal patriarchal thinking and actions, hate and oppress women who think and act independently. They know that the systemic double exploitation and oppression of the masses of women under capitalism means that these women have enormous potential for revolutionary struggle to overcome the system.
The crisis of the imperialist world system is leading to catastrophic everyday living conditions, which are felt with particular severity by the masses of women: unemployment, the lowest wages, the dismantling of hard-won social benefits, poverty, homelessness, hunger, regional environmental disasters, stricter laws against women’s reproductive rights, and above all, patriarchal violence ranging from domestic brutality to state terror.
The defense of Rojava, with its achievements in women’s liberation, is not only a beacon of utmost priority for women around the world. Many people, including many young women, from all over the world have set out to defend the revolution and the achievements of women. The braided pigtail has become a symbol of women’s resistance.
For imperialist policies also challenge the fighting spirit of women around the world. In Palestine, Kurdistan, Congo, Venezuela, and Sudan, they are not giving up and are ready to defend themselves against genocide, boundless exploitation, imperialist aggression, and reactionary wars, and to fight for their freedom. In the USA, they are standing up against fascist terror such as the Trump administration and its fascist shock troops like ICE. In Iran, they are defying bloody oppression with fearless courage. In the industrial plants of the world, women workers are at the forefront of the struggle against exploitation and oppression. They all share a longing for a liberated future. It is the task of the ICOR parties, of all revolutionaries, to ensure that this longing gives rise to consciousness, clarity, and fighting spirit for the necessary organized struggle for socialism and communism.
In November 2025, the 2nd ICOR Women’s Conference with 73 women from 14 countries took place before the theoretical seminar of the World Women with the lively participation of 325 women from 28 countries. It marks the upswing of the revolutionary women’s movement in fruitful interaction with the worldwide militant women’s movement.
