ICOR Main Coordinator and Co-President of the United Front

To all organizations and friends of ICOR and United Front
Dear friends,
The situation in Gaza is catastrophic and Zionist Israel is intensifying and realizing its
goal of either expelling or exterminating the Palestinian masses. Our friends from the
Solidarity Pact with Al Awda report:
“The situation is getting worse and worse every day. The mission to find food every day
is very tedious, most of the time you can’t find anything and if at all, it’s too expensive.
You eat rotten bread full of bread bugs and you can taste it. Nothing has come in since
February 28. Everyone is starving and there are now many deaths, especially of
children and the elderly.” Since February 28, the Zionist Netanyahu government has not
allowed any water, food or medicine into Gaza. They need our solidarity and help,
politically, morally, with money and visions for the future. No upright person can avert
their eyes. Hunger is one of the most terrible weapons of war.
The solidarity pact between the ICOR and the Al Awda Health Community Center was
concluded 5 months ago and it is becoming more important day by day, month by
month. The Al Awda Center is a large secular medical aid project with decades of
experience. Its 7 emergency centers, which were spread all over Gaza before the
current war, were all bombed and completely destroyed. A makeshift 11 new centers
were built from sheet metal. But they cannot treat patients with broken bones, burns or
organic damage. There is a lack of everything at the front and back – especially
bandages, although there are hundreds of serious injuries every day.
The partners of Al Awda ask the ICOR and all supporters to continue donating for
emergency aid now. The ICOR plan to build health stations (“oases”) immediately after
the end of the war is very much welcomed by the friends in Gaza: “After the end of the
war, we see the reconstruction of these centers as a priority. Especially those that are
located in populated areas and not where there is only rubble and ashes. Inhabited
areas are, for example, Gaza City and Al Nuseirat.”
Nakba Day is coming up on May 15th and in accordance with our resolutions, I
ask you all to be determined to carry out and report on activities –
demonstrations, protests, fundraising, events – around the world on this day! This
struggle must not stand alone for a single day!
