Kathmandu . Revolutionary Communist Party Of Nepal (RCPN ) has issued a good wish message on the occassion of May Day Cebelaration . Acting General Secretary Gaurav has issued a statement on 05/01/2025 . The statement is as following – “ Today, May 1, 2025, correspondingly Baisakh 18, 2082 BS, is a historical event of the international proletariat. International Workers’ Day i.e. May Day was first celebrated on May first, 1890, in memory of the workers’ movement in Chicago, America, that fulfilled the demand for an eight-hour workday. On this occasion of the 136th anniversary of May Day, our party, the Revolutionary Communist Party of Nepal, extends its warm greetings to the working class and oppressed masses of the world.
The world proletariat is on the streets today to celebrate this year’s May Day, while the imperialist world order is going through a multifaceted crisis. When US President Trump’s announcement of a 145 percent increase in tariffs led to the escalation of the trade war between the United States and China, some capitalist countries have become targets of Chinese hegemony, that has demanded not to make any economic agreement with the United States. It has created a serious uproar in the capitalist economy around the world. Oppression, poverty and unemployment are becoming widespread. Mainly since the 1980s, the wealth of a handful of billionaires has been increasing in geometrical proportion, while that of the working class has been gradually declining. If it is looked at in figures, half of the world’s wealth is in the hands of tycoons, who make up only 1% of the world’s population. The top capitalists, who make up 10 per cent of the population, have captured 85 per cent of the world’s wealth, and the bottom 90 per cent own only 15 per cent. Thanks to the decline in the purchasing power of the masses, goods produced in the capitalist market have decreased getting sold. As a result, world imperialism is falling into a serious economic crisis.
The imperialist marauders redivide the world to delay this financial crisis by shifting the burden of their crisis on the heads of the oppressed nation and people. They have been preparing for war for a long time to establish their dominance in the world and capture the resources of underdeveloped countries. The sharp increase in military budgets by developed capitalist countries, including the US, China, and Russia, every year is caused by this. The war in Ukraine, the Israeli massacre of Palestinian people, the imperialist attacks in Lebanon and Syria, the tension in the South China Sea region, and their intervention in the oppressed countries are all rehearsals for the redivision of the world. The global financial crisis demands war to redivide the world; therefore, Lenin’s statement that imperialism is war is still relevant today. Owing to this global situation, not the inter-imperialist contradiction only, but the contradiction between oppressed nations and people and imperialism is also intensifying. In the contemporary world, rulers have disregarded even the so-called democratic principles of the parliamentary system and have resorted to fascism. This overall situation is pushing the world towards the Third World War.
Being a part of world imperialism, our country is also not immune to the effects of the global crisis. At present, the state power, system, and parliamentary parties in Nepal are all in crisis. The government has embraced fascism as a means to maintain its political power. Regressive forces have begun to take advantage of the situation when the Nepalese people look for a political alternative. The country is in crisis, and this crisis is sure to become more serious in the coming days. History has proven that the solution to the current all-around crisis is a forward-looking radical change, neither regression nor the status quo.
The solution to the ongoing multidimensional crisis that has emerged worldwide is not a partial reform in the imperialist world order. The proletarian revolution is the only solution to it. Whether it is to resolve the global crisis or the crisis of our own country alone, unity among revolutionary forces has become more urgent than ever. To prevent the possible Third World War and pave the way to establish scientific socialism by defeating the imperialist world order, principled unity among true revolutionaries on the theoretical basis of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, a strong united front against world imperialism and domestic reaction, and tactical unity to the extent possible with parties, groups, and individuals on common issues are the imperative needs of the day. It is our good wish that may this International Workers’ Day send a message to the world proletariat and oppressed masses towards fulfilling this need.”
